This game is based on Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark. She became and remains a pop culture icon when she hosted B horror movies on her infamous syndicated television show. Having appeared in hundreds of films, television shows, and live appearances, Elvira has also just starred in Hulu’s “Thirteen Nights of Elvira”. Elvira’s House of Horrors builds on the historic, classic and successful Elvira and the Party Monsters & Scared Stiff pinball machines. It’s not a cornerstone game; it’s a studio game, designed in conjunction with outside designers and engineers. Dennis Nordman and Greg Freres collaborated to design all Elvira games, including Elvira’s House of Horrors. Dennis created the initial playfield designs, and Greg created the art and added direction and humor.

FunHouse is a pinball machine designed by Pat Lawlor and released in November 1990 by Williams Electronics. Starring a talking ventriloquist dummy named Rudy, the game is themed after the concept of an amusement park funhouse. FunHouse is one of the last Williams games to use an alphanumeric display; the company switched to dot matrix the following year.
